WID compares net personal wealth among adults aged 20+. Couples' wealth is split equally between the two adults; enter one adult's comparable share.
We retain 126 source thresholds per year. We interpolate logarithmically between positive thresholds and linearly around zero and negative values. Percentages are conservatively rounded. We do not extrapolate below the bottom 1% or beyond the top 0.001%.
The latest complete distribution is 2024; 1980–2024 values use constant 2025 USD prices. We use WO-MER market-exchange-rate data, not purchasing-power-parity dollars. Amounts converted at the displayed exchange rate are compared with this historical price basis; no 2026 inflation adjustment is made.
WID combines national accounts, surveys, tax data and rich lists, with imputations for missing countries and years. This is not a live census or an exact personal leaderboard. Uncertainty is greater in the extreme wealth tail.

Coinbase and Kraken provide public market data; Frankfurter and Currency API provide daily FX references. We validate currency coverage, positive values and dates. We do not average different providers. A last successful response may be displayed as cached for up to 24 hours. The initial saved response is Currency API data dated 19 September 2026. Conversion = amount × rate; reverse = amount ÷ rate. Fees and actual execution prices may differ.
